It is a privilege and an honor to serve as your Second District Officers Association President for this year. The fraternal bonds I made as I have traveled are priceless to me and I encourage all of you to get out and meet your brother Masons as I have. I think you will agree that, everywhere you go in the Second District, you are “Second to None.”
Email me (Kenneth.Ballinger@gmail.com) or WB Brian Hyer (firstname.lastname@example.org), or visit the new “Add an Event” page in the list of pages to the left, to have an event placed in the weekly Second District email blast and on the Second District Google calendar.
Lodge Events and Announcements
Your Second District Officers Association is ready and willing to help to advertise your Lodge events. Please, as you let us know what you have going on, try to give us at least two weeks’ notice so we can post on the Second District website and announce at Inspections.
Second District Directory
We are making the final edits to the 2018 Second District Directory. Talk to your Lodge secretary and make sure that your contact information is current and correct. Secretaries, make sure that MORI is accurate for all your officers and brethren. This is especially important for senior officers. Your county representatives will be contacting you with District news and updates and we want to make sure that we can get this information to you quickly. If you do not have an email address or if you are not comfortable sharing it with the Second District, then find a substitute brother who will be your point-of-contact. Email is the preferred and least expensive way for us to get ahold of everyone.
Inspection season 2018 Candidate Attendance Contest
Inspection season 2018 is underway and initial reports show that attendance is up from the last few years. To keep this trend going, the Second District Officers Association created an attendance challenge contest. Here’s how it works: If you have candidates in your Lodge who are working on their proficiency, bring them with you to an inspection in that degree. Have them sign the attendance sheet and note their degree. Example: Ken Ballinger FC. The county representatives will note that you have brought a candidate and keep a running total. At the end of the season, the Lodge with the most will be recognized and win an award. Your new members will be introduced to other brothers in the District and will be helped learning their work by seeing it portrayed. We will also count brothers working on degrees at your own inspections. If you have lost contact with a brother who has not completed all three degrees, this is an opportunity to re-connect and possibly help that brother to full membership. Everyone wins.
As always, brothers, let us know how we can serve you better!
