Brethren of the Second District,
It is time for Freemasons to start rebuilding from what has been a difficult period in history. The challenge to “Fire on All Cylinders,” and move forward, is itself a challenge. If you haven’t been to Lodge in a while, whatever the reason, now more than ever you are needed and can contribute by being as active as time permits.
Lodge announcements and Events:
For the Lodges, by starting or beefing up your Social Media presence such as a free Facebook page, you can reach out Worldwide. You will be amazed at the views and responses from all over.
Also, when you have an event, please use the Second District resources and publicize it by visiting, “Add New,” page on here in the list of pages to the left to have it placed in the Second District email blast. Please let us know at least 2 weeks in advance so we can announce at Inspections also.
When you have an event, consider having either the Master, or someone not camera shy to do a short video telling who, what, where, when, why of what is upcoming and place onto your Lodge page. Let others see we are Happy Masons and not necessarily posting a solemn picture all the time. Dignified is always in good taste at all times. If you want any suggestions, contact your County Representative who will gladly work with you.
It is humbling to work on behalf of our Second District not only as an event coordinator, but a cheerleader for all things Masonic…especially when it’s “Second to None.” Your DOA Representatives also look forward to working with you on several issues such as Inquiries, Events, and Information flow.
Lastly, what’s your talent? Are you the Brother with the knack for Ritual or being able to assume any station needed in Lodge? Are you the Ambassador who is willing to meet and greet at the door on Lodge Night and welcome with a smile? Are you the Brother who checks on Sick and Distressed, or the one who drops off a bag of salt because it will be needed or mows the yard that month… Masonry needs all of you! Use your talent for the good of all.
As with most things, it is not what we know individually, it is what we can accomplish as a whole.
I look forward to seeing you soon in Lodge!
