Greetings Brethren All,
On behalf of all of the District Education Officers (DEOs), we wanted to take a moment to thank all of the Brethren that have shown their Commitment to the Craft by being engaged and taking an active role in your lodges. Also, we wanted to take a brief moment to thank all of the Brethren that took time out of their busy schedules to come to the Deacons, Wardens, and LEO training courses this year. This level of Commitment is truly what makes our District “Second to None!”
The DEOs oversee three things, Candidate Education, Member Experiences, and Officer Training. Your DEOs have already begun scheduling/planning pre-inspections and “Handling of the Candidate” Training. These meetings and training sessions are to help ensure that the lodge members are continuing to get a great experience.
We have scheduled 3 District Education events planned for this Masonic Calendar year. Be sure to save the dates, you won’t want to miss these presentations!
- February 18th @ 7pm: Community Service and the Masonic Resource Center at Jefferson Lodge #90
- March 26th @ 7pm: Building the Dayton Masonic Center at Millenium Lodge #779 (in the Asylum)
- April 30th @ 7pm: The Lodge Within: Jungian Archetypes in Masonic Leadership at Alpha Lodge #729
Also, as a reminder if you or a Brother you know is seeking more from your Masonic experience there are many programs available through Grandview that can help with that void. Below is a list of a few programs available on Grandview under the Resources and Education tabs.
- The Zerubbable Engagement Award (For New Masons to be completed within their first 2 years)
- The Royal Scofield Society (For all Master Masons)
- Masonic Code Courses (For all Master Masons)
- Lodge Master Craftsman and Mentoring Resources
- Leadership Resources
There are many other valuable educational resources available on Grandview. If you have any questions about any of the programs don’t hesitate to reach out to your DEO. We’d be more than happy to help you and answer your questions!
Lastly, we encourage you to share your positive experiences with your Brethren. Remembering the compasses belongs to the Craft and only through you can the craft continue to grow and when talking with your Brethren know that “Your Enthusiasm Excites Them” and your enthusiasm is contagious!
Fraternally yours,
WB Michael A. Miller, RSS
