Worshipful Brother Rick Gabbard was born in Kettering, Ohio, and has been a proud resident of the Miami Valley his entire life. He was raised in Franklin Township, attended Carlisle High School, and continued his education at the Miami Valley Career Center, where he graduated with Honors in HVAC Studies. While working in the HVAC field WB Gabbard found his true passion while volunteering with local fire department for public safety and community service.
Pursuing that calling, Rick went on to complete the Fire Academy and Paramedic School, later earning his Bachelor of Science in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University. His dedication to helping others led to a rewarding career as a Firefighter and Paramedic with the Miami Valley Fire District, where he faithfully served his community for many years before retiring.
A devoted husband and family man, Rick resides in Franklin, Ohio, with his wife Stephanie and their two dogs, Maverick and Blue—the latter well known throughout the area as the Springboro Police Department’s Comfort Dog.
Rick’s Masonic journey began when he was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in April 2012. His love for the Craft and his natural leadership qualities soon became evident, and in 2019 he was elected to serve as Worshipful Master of Germantown Lodge No. 257. His commitment to Masonic service has continued ever since, as he has represented the District Officers Association with distinction—first as Montgomery County Representative from 2020 through 2023, then as Second Vice President in 2024, and Vice President for 2025.
Beyond his work in the Blue Lodge, Worshipful Brother Gabbard is an active member of the York Rite Bodies, including Twin Valley Chapter No. 240, Adoniram Council No. 131, and Valley Commandery No. 80. He is also a Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Dayton, where he continues to expand his understanding of Masonic teachings and fellowship. His enthusiasm for Masonic charity and good works extends to the Antioch Shrine, where he serves as Second Ceremonial Master, helping to advance the mission of the Shrine and its commitment to children’s hospitals and community service.
Throughout every stage of his personal, professional, and Masonic life, Worshipful Brother Rick Gabbard has exemplified the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. His steady leadership, humility, and unwavering dedication to service have earned him the respect of his peers and the admiration of those privileged to labor beside him. Whether on the fireground, in the lodge room, or within the community, his actions reflect the true spirit of a Master Mason committed to the craft.
